HBO Max offers a curious response to Game of Thrones fans, following unconfirmed reports of an upcoming sequel series centered on Jon Snow. It was recently reported that a Game of Thrones sequel series is currently in development and will follow none other than Jon Snow, also known by his true name, Aegon Targaryen.
It has also had the carpet whipped out from underneath it by news that HBO is going to make another Game of Thrones spin-off, starring Kit Harington as Jon Snow. That show will feature Kit Harington's return to the world of Westeros as Jon Snow and is the only one of the current spin-offs to be a sequel to Game of Thrones. Martin revealed in another blog post that even though the show was only recently announced, it "has been in development" for the same amount of time "as the other three:"

While the Jon Snow show remains in the development stage, HBO has been fairly cautious when it comes to updates on the show. Instead, it’ll only be if the story is good enough, and given HBO already canceled The HBO boss acknowledged that they have many Game of Thrones spinoffs in development, though "Dunk and Egg" (referring to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight) is the only one that has been officially green-lit.
