Problem with E90 Air Condition. 3 months ago i had to unplug the A/C in my E90 (2008-316i) to do some repairs. Since re-install the A/C was not working well as before & giving normal/very slightly cool air; so i went to check & i found that the amount of R134a freon gas was not charged correctly it was about 350 grams only instead of 590 gm
After a few minutes and cycling the AC off / on, the right vent started blowing normally. Then a little while ago, I was driving to work - it's 58 degrees out - and I set the temp on Auto and 73 degrees for both. In my F30 328i, 71 - 73 has always kept things comfortable; 74 if it's cold.
2. Unplug the fan and either unhook the blade guard or unscrew the pin. Pull the fan’s electrical cord out to keep it from turning on randomly while you’re working on it. Feel around the sides of the blade guards for clips that are holding the 2 parts together. If there are clips, unhook them and remove the front half.

The average replacement cost of a blower motor resistor is between $90 and $175. Expect to spend about $40 to $100 on the part and another $50 to $75 for labor if you can’t perform the replacement yourself. However, you should bear in mind that the most common reason for a bad blower motor resistor is due to a bad fan motor.

TheEinstein. When the A/C is running, the low side (larger of the two A/C lines) should be sweating. If no moisture accumulation (condensation) is appearing on the line, it may not have a pure refrigerant charge. If it is covered in frost after running, that is a sign of low refrigerant pressure.
