Nissan has now replaced the e-NV200 with the new Townstar model. The e-NV200 was the van version of the Leaf and had a 40kWh battery that was good for 187 miles if driven around town or 124 miles The first e-NV200 shared its 24kWh battery with the original Nissan Leaf, which allowed for a claimed 106-mile electric range, though you’d be lucky to get 80 miles from a charge in real-world conditions. Like the Leaf, you could choose to pay to lease the e-NV200’s battery, or buy the model in full.

Nissan plans to kill fleet vehicle production in the U.S. this summer. Nissan also revealed the concept on its global news site, but not the American one, which isn't an auspicious sign. Nissan unveiled the e-NV200 Winter Camper concept, a custom all-electric camper van based on the NV200, which is going out of production in America.

Nissan isn’t particularly known for commercial vehicles in the UK, but this Nissan Townstar EV is part of a resurgence in its line-up – it's a small electric van that replaces the e-NV200.

This is the new Nissan e-NV200 XL Voltia. Based on the existing e-NV200 electric van, the maker claims it’s 90% bigger inside than the conventional model, despite no increase in the wheelbase. Prices start from Ā£29,955 plus VAT. The extra space comes courtesy of an aftermarket conversion, which adds greater height and a longer rear overhang.
