Monster Cables are just STUPID expensive and really for no good reason. There are even some manufacturers that state in the operation manuals to NOT USE Monster Cables. I don't know why. I had a Monster Cable, but I just did not notice any sort of difference at all. I currently us all George Ls cables.
Without cutting the cable apart, I would say the diameter is a good 2 millimeters, which gives it a radius of 1 millimeter. That's an area of roughly 3 millimeters squared. guess what? 12 gauge. So much for all the 16 gauge monster bashing. The component cable itself is probably worth $10 easy. The extra 10 ft subwoofer cable is really nice too.
Sounds like the clerk had no clue about the Monster cable policy. Blame his manager for poorly training him. Next time, take it to Best Buy. ANY Monster dealer is supposed to honor the replacement warranty. It's the only thing that makes those stupid cables worth buying.
Monster sells ordinary wire at extrodinary prices. if you look at the news, you'll see they just plunked down $6,000,000 for the naming rights to Candlestick Park, all by selling wire. A generic set of cables will work just fine. For video, 75 ohm cable is required, that's all.
Monster cable is a farce. They have good marketing techniques and a mediocre product that sells for WWWWAAAYYYY more than its worth. Blue Jeans cables are the way to go as far as all your cables are concerned. Monoprice also has great cables for a very fair price.Adam I didn't even bash really. simple answer-NO "high end" cable are not worth the money. I have found Monster to be amoung the biggest rip-off of all cable makers. your paying for the hype about their products and not the products themselfs. online retailers such a pacific cables is a great choice for high end cables at super low prices. they tend to beat Monster by at leat 50% on most stuff.
